PocketLauncher covers - offline download ======================================== These are the cover images PocketLauncher uses, packed so you can grab them all at once on a PC (or Mac) and copy them to your Amiga yourself, instead of downloading them from the Amiga with Covers > Download covers... . No animations here, only still images. The set comes in two archives. Unpack both into the same place: they share the top folder PocketLauncher-Covers/. PocketLauncher-Covers-Amiga.lha the Amiga/ folder (IFF images) PocketLauncher-Covers-PC.lha the PC/ folder (PNG images) Download page: https://macumbaeditor.com/pl/covers-download What is in each folder ---------------------- Amiga/TinyLauncher/ 14178 IFF ILBM images for 5076 games, demos, betas and disk magazines, in the TinyLauncher naming scheme: /_SCR.iff (n = 0..9) Categories: Game, Demo, Beta, Magazine. In the original TinyLauncher pack _SCR1 is usually the box and the others are title and in-game screens. This is exactly the set PocketLauncher downloads with Covers > Download covers... (the OCS/ECS and AGA/CD32 sets together). About 525 of these games were missing from the TinyLauncher pack and were filled in from the iGame pack below, renamed to _SCR0.iff so the same folder covers them too. Amiga/iGame/ 4972 covers in the iGame layout (the ECS LoRes set, 160x64, works on any Amiga screen): ///igame.iff ///igame.data This mirrors the usual WHDLoad tree (Games/A/AddamsFamily/...). iGame, and PocketLauncher too, show the igame.iff that sits in the game's own drawer, next to its .slave. igame.data is iGame's own info file (title, chipset...); PocketLauncher reads its title as well. PC/ 5047 PNG covers, one per game, exactly as the Remote Launcher page shows them on your phone: the box art (or the best cover there is), 200 pixels wide, pixel aspect already corrected. PC//.png For browsing on a PC, for an emulator front-end, or as a starting point for your own covers. They are not meant to be copied to the Amiga: use the Amiga/ folder for that. Copying to the Amiga -------------------- Unpack the archive on the PC, then copy the folder you want to the Amiga (CF/SD card, network share, WinUAE/FS-UAE shared folder, ...). Or copy the .lha itself and unpack it on the Amiga with "lha x PocketLauncher-Covers-Amiga.lha". Space needed: about 510 MB for Amiga/TinyLauncher, about 22 MB for Amiga/iGame. Some file names are longer than 30 characters, so use a file system with long names (PFS3, SFS, or FFS with long file names - what most WHDLoad hard drive setups already use). On a plain FFS/OFS partition those files fail to copy. Using them with PocketLauncher ------------------------------ TinyLauncher images (recommended): 1. Copy Amiga/TinyLauncher/ anywhere, for example to Games:Covers/TinyLauncher/ . 2. In PocketLauncher open Covers > Cover folders... , press "Add folder..." and pick that folder. 3. PocketLauncher indexes it once (it shows the progress and can be stopped). From then on every game in your list whose slave name matches gets its images. Nothing is copied or renamed: the images are used where they are. Up to 8 cover folders. If you add or remove images later, press "Rebuild index" in the same window. iGame images: Copy the contents of Amiga/iGame// over your own WHDLoad tree, so each igame.iff lands in the drawer of its game (for example Amiga/iGame/Game/A/AddamsFamily/igame.iff goes to Games:A/AddamsFamily/igame.iff). Copy only the drawers of games you have; a drawer name that does not match yours does nothing. If your copy tool asks about existing files, choose "skip" to keep your own igame.iff and igame.data. Your own covers always win: PocketLauncher shows what is in the game's drawer first and the cover folders after it, and Download covers never replaces or deletes images you put there. Make your own covers: https://macumbaeditor.com/iffmaker turns any PNG, JPEG or other picture into an IFF cover the Amiga (and PocketLauncher) can show. Save it as _SCR0.iff in a cover folder, or as igame.iff in the game's drawer. Credits ------- The images were made by the Amiga community and are only collected and repackaged here; PocketLauncher did not draw them. Box art, title and in-game screens remain the property of their respective publishers and developers.
